Designed for the architect’s sister and her family, the Desert House is a sustainable, energy efficient, unassuming home at the foothills of the desert and overlooks the Dead Sea. It responds to its environment and blends in with the colors of the surrounding mountain rocks. One corner of the rectangular volume of the house has been carved away in order to create a second-floor outdoor terrace, while a wood trellis in the ground floor rear yard provides a shaded outdoor sitting area.
